Our Story!

As I walked out of the house, I said to my friend, “I’m going to date that girl!” The next week, we were on our first date.

Wedding Day!
It was the start of our junior year in college when I (Reid) went over to my friend from high school’s house to take her and two of her roommates to a party. When I was there, I met their mysterious fourth roommate. Her name was Kate. She claims I talked a lot... As I walked out of the house, I said to my friend, “I’m going to date that girl!” The next week, we were on our first date. She quickly became my best friend, and I proposed 1 year later. Shortly after college, we tied the knot and started our life together with no money in the bank account, but a lot of love! Kate signed on to be a military wife, and we’ve moved to places across the country we thought we’d never go. Together, we have weathered deployments, crafted communities with deep friendships, endured infertility, and built a marriage that relies on laughter, love, and a deep sense of selfless sacrifice. Eight years later, our story is far from over. We can’t wait to start our family, settle near our loved ones, and provide a loving upbringing like we were so grateful to have.
Why Adoption?

God had a different path for us.

.
When we first got married, we knew we wanted to become adoptive parents. But honestly, we expected adoption to come a little later in our story, after we’d learned a thing or two about
parenting. However, God had a different path for us. Though we’ve had our own infertility journey, we are so committed to the idea of being parents. We can’t wait to pour out our time, energy, and love in raising another human being. We both firmly believe God has lovingly adopted us into His family, and it’s only fitting that we replicate that act by adopting our own children.
Our Promise

Above all, we promise that your child will always know the depth of your love, our love, and God’s love for them.

.
Our greatest promise is to love this child unconditionally. They will grow up in a home filled with love, joy, and laughter. We want to offer them every opportunity to seek out their passions, explore the world, and always have a home to return to.

We also want to honor their identity by explaining the process of adoption and who you are in their story. You will always be spoken about with respect, love, and gratitude. You are an important part of their story, and we promise to share that with them as they grow.

Above all, we promise that your child will always know the depth of your love, our love, and God’s love for them.

Our Adventures

We enjoy seeing different parts of the country through the outdoors! Growing up, we both got to take trips with our families and friends to wonderful places. We can’t wait to provide those same adventures for our kiddos. Fun Fact: - What do we do most when we travel? Find a great breakfast joint and go for walks! - We basically vacation like old people...

Our Community

Living away from family has made us realize the importance of close friendships! We have worked to build communities that sacrifice for one another, laugh...a lot, and encourage each other in our relationships with Jesus. Some of our friendships span decades, and others have come through our travels around the country. We want our kids to grow up in a community where they can see selfless, loving friendships modeled on a daily basis. We can’t wait for sleepovers, backyard parties, and neighborhood shenanigans!

Reid’s Family

Just like Kate, I grew up in a small town surrounded by family. My mom was one of my teachers, my dad was my principal and baseball coach, and my two older brothers were always lovingly trying to find a way to torment me! Family is an integral part of who we are and how we were raised. We want to offer that same upbringing to our children. I want the generational wisdom in our family to be passed on to our kids. We can’t wait for them to run around with their cousins at holidays, get spoiled by their grandparents, and learn something they shouldn’t from their uncles.

Kate’s Family

I feel incredibly fortunate to have grown up surrounded by my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles in the same town. My childhood was filled with special moments -grandma sleepovers, backyard playdates with my cousins, and large family dinners that brought us all together. These experiences were filled with both love and valuable lessons. We are excited to offer our children that same sense of connection! My family is very active; you can find us hiking, playing pickleball and golf, or out working in the yard. Everyone is thrilled about the idea of welcoming a little one into our active and loving family!

Our Home

Reid and I want our home to feel welcoming and cozy to everyone who steps through our doors. We open our home weekly to host our church life group because we hope to be a place of community. We imagine hosting play dates with our children’s friends, be the teenage hang out when the time comes, and somewhere our kids want to return after they move away.

Reggie

Oh Reggie... We picked this sweet boy up 6 weeks into our marriage, and he has been by our side every step of the journey. Reggie is the smartest dog we’ve ever met. Unfortunately, all of his brain power is geared towards figuring out how to please himself! Reggie loves to lounge on the highest point he can find in the house, enjoys patrolling the back yard, and jumps on every store counter he sees, believing they have a small cup of whipped cream waiting for him. Perched by a window each afternoon, Reggie faithfully waits for us to get home so he can go on his walk around the neighborhood. He can’t wait to romp around in the backyard with a little kiddo, and he especially can’t wait for all of the food that gets dropped on the ground at meals!

Snapshots of Reid

- I love being outdoors and “camping” in our travel trailer. - Game day weekends mean football on the TV and meat on the smoker. - I am a pilot in the military and enjoy the challenge and adventure it brings. - I love to work out and compete in all things fitness.

Snapshots of Kate

- I love all things gardening and can’t wait to have little hands planting alongside me. - I am a middle school math teacher and absolutely love the authenticity (and sometimes attitude) of teenagers! - I recently started my own sourdough baking business. I am excited to share the kitchen counter with sticky fingers one day. - I enjoy running and being active.

Meet Reid by Kate

Reid is devoted, loving, humorous, and hard-working. But my favorite quality of Reid’s is his desire to serve others. You’ll find Reid buying a meal for a stranger, calling his grandparents to check in, or helping the neighbor down the street move. My favorite time of day is our daily evening walks with each other. We get to laugh, share our days, and chat about the future. As a dad, Reid will be the Little League coach, the dad reading in goofy voices, but most of all, the dad who loves his kid through every stage of life.

Meet Kate by Reid

Kate is fiercely loyal and very competitive... which complicates things when I kick her butt in a board game! She is so intelligent, but my favorite thing to see in our marriage has been how her creativity has blossomed. Kate pursues her goals with passion. She’s not just hard working, it’s more than that. She is committed to being the best teacher, wife, friend, and baker, and she pours her creativity into those endeavors. As a mom, Kate will be reviewing flash cards before a test (which she made herself on Canva), lugging someone around to various practices, and bringing a fierce love that holds our family together.
